The pilgrimage of Daniel Faurholt Thomsen

Daniel Faurholt Thomsen 22-05-1989

In 2018 Daniel found himself suffering from stress and exhaustion. A great workload and illness in his family took its’ toll on the 28 year old soldier, and he had to change course. This was the beginning of his life as a long distance hiker. After dealing with his stress related issues hiking the Camino de Santiago Daniel sought after bigger challenges.

On April 1 2019 he set out for the 4,265 kilometers Pacific Crest Trail. This hike – also known by the name of “Hikers’ Mount Everest” – led him through the rugged American nature from Mexico to Canada. Daniel found himself and the challenges he sought during the 158 day long hike in hot desert and snowy mountains.

The hardships that nearly killed him have changed his life perspective and lifted him out of the mental hole he was in. While preparing for his next adventure, Daniel gives lectures about finding motivation and hiking your way out of stress and anxiety.
