Join an engaging and adventurous journey with adventurer and philanthropist Charlie Uldahl Christensen, who is temporarily back from his philanthropic pilgrimage, walking across Africa.
Since he started his walk from Esbjerg Town Square in 2015, Charlie has traveled 15,000 km through Europe, along the West African coast, and has now reached Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The talk will take you on a journey that includes:
- A feast in the bush with hunter-gatherer tribes in Tanzania
- Dry-mouthed through the Sahara Desert in Mauritania
- On the run from a dictator’s henchmen in Gambia
- Near death from malaria and typhoid in Sierra Leone
- Behind bars in Nigeria
- High on Iboga in Gabon
Through these and other stories, Charlie will share:
- What drives him
- How he prepared himself
- What equipment he carries
- His greatest challenges and most nerve-wracking moments
- His thoughts and considerations about the next stage
This talk is not just a story of wanderlust and encounters with foreign cultures but also an inspiring tale of daring to choose an unconventional path in life and finding meaning in existence.
By booking this talk, you support Charlie’s philanthropic mission in Africa, contributing to public water supplies in communities with limited access to clean water, as half of the fee is donated to the NGO LoveSpring, to build public water systems in Africa.
The talks are generally priced at 9,000 DKK plus travel expenses.
50% of the fee goes directly to LoveSprings well-building efforts in Africa.
If you book a talk for 9,000 DKK, you will be the sole sponsor of a hand pump that will provide basic access to clean water for at least 200 people. You will have your name painted on the wall surrounding the well, if you wish, and receive pictures of the well when installed.
